I have been on the following combination of treatments over a span of 15 years for my crohns and colitis but all have failed: Pentasa/Imuran/Predisone/Flagal, Remicade/Predisone/Imuran/Flagal, Humara/Imuran/Predisone/ Flagal. I was recently in the hospital for 8 days due to not being able to eat or drink anything, and uncontrollably pain, high fever, and going to the bathroom at15+ times in a 24 hour period. They put me on IV antibiotics, and iv steroids, by the time they discharged me I had gotten back on soft foods, and only going to the bathroom 5-7 times in a 24 hour period. I'm taking 40 mg of prednisone a day and I start my first infusion on Stelara in 5 days. In the last week my spine and joints have hurt so back I can barely move and function through the day, and started running a fever again today, and my skin just hurts to touch. Will stelara work pretty quickly and if it doesn't work are there any other treatment option out there?

Hope you are tolerating it well and your doctor is open for more complementary options for Crohn's disease. Once you are stable those can certainly be tried.
