Thank you very much for this question.

Lots of people have flatulence issues and too embarrassed to discuss them with health care professionals.

When flatulence becomes severe, painful or long lasting it is certainly a reason for concern.

If your stool is looser than usual for about a month and you flatulence is really foul smelling it is a matter for concern.

It could be many things like bacterial, viral or parasitic infection. It could be an onset of digestive inflammatory disorder. It could be stomach flu and your gut flora didn't get balanced itself out yet. It really could be numerous reasons.

You wouldn't want to wait too long since untreated infections could be the beginning for chronic problems.

One more thing I would like to suggest:
Stay off sugars. At least for this time. That includes all simple carbohydrates, pastas, soda, sweet drinks, sweet foods and even fruits high in sugar.

Replace with complex carbohydrates like buckwheat, quinoa and brown rice.
