Crohns Disease Updates.
It’s been a while since my last E-zine. Two months flew so fast.
I want to update you on a couple of things.
First, you have to think very hard before getting a flu vaccine. It can trigger an immune reaction in patients with autoimmune disorders like Crohns disease. And if you choose to do it or are forced to do it, put an ice pack on the affected area right away. This should reduce the inflammation and only limit it to the area of injection instead of the reaction of the whole body.
Second, you have to be in transitional stage from summer foods to winter foods now. Add more warm soups and meat stews if you eat meat. But still continue with your veggies. Limit or avoid completely sugar and grains. High fiber diet is very important for colon health. Refer to
Crohns disease diet page.
And last but not least, consider eating kale. Kale is a wonderful green veggie and it’s packed with fiber and we need that fiber. It has calcium, lutein, iron, and Vitamins A, C, E and K. Kale has seven times the beta-carotene of broccoli and ten times more lutein. Kale is the naturally occurring and all-important phytochemicals sulforaphane and indoles. These elements may protect against cancer as per some studies.
Until the next time.
I wish you all to stay healthy and symptom-free!
