I've had Crohn's disease for over 25 years. In June 2004, I ended up having a small bowel resection which didn't go well and was in the hospital for 1 month, almost died. After the surgery, my life changed forever and I was never the same as before the surgery. I lost 30lbs, very weak and after 6 months, I lost my job of 16 years because of Crohn's disease and filed for social security in 2009 at the age of 57. More recently, I was in the hospital in September 2013 for 8 days and since then, I haven't been feeling well for 9 months and the last month, it's worse. I just changed internal medicine doctors to find someone who actually cared how I feel. From recent lab tests, I have an elevated liver, which is a new problem with a CT in the next few days. Taking fish oil, Vitamin E 2 times a day for my liver problem. So much for the Golden Years in retirement.
I hope life doesn't continue to be like this for the next 20-30 years, nausea, pain.
