My Story

by Nicole
(Kasson, MN)

My name is Nicole. I was diagnosed a few days after I turned 9 at the Mayo hospital.

I am now 11 and have had it for about two years. I have tried Remicade, Prednisone and a few other medications but they have not helped. I had surgery but sadly did not proceed because so much of my intestine was infected. My doctor Dr.Freeze than put me on Humira, an injection in my thigh that I take every two weeks and I think it hurts like crazy but I've been on it for maybe two months and it has been seeming to work. Sorry for the bad grammar, as I said earlier I just turned 11 years old.

Hi Nicole,

I'm Vicky and I don't have Crohn's disease but my mom has it and it's terrible. I'm your age I don't know how you are keeping yourself sane.

I think you are very brave to come out and share your story. I want to show this page to my mom when time she tells me nobody else has it this bad. You're cool Nicole.

I'll pray for you.
