"Explosive type of diarrhea" is a description by patients themselves. They often experience this diarrhea after eating. Diarrhea after eating can happen in people with gluten allergy or gluten sensitivity, in patients with lactose intolerance, etc. It's a body's fast reaction to get rid of a "foreigner". When looking for cure of diarrhea it would be great to check for food allergies and food sensitivities first. You are not always born with it. Certain food intolerance can develop later on in life.
Explosive diarrhea is a term that is rarely used. Is it not common or not commonly discussed? There is a medical term for one of the types of "explosive diarrhea" called Brainerd diarrhea. It starts suddenly with watery stool and it lasts for months. The cause for it is unkown and it doesn’t resond to antibiotics. It is associated with drinking raw milk and/or tap (unfiltered) water. Brainerd diarrhea was first described in Brainerd, Minnesota in the 1980’s.
There is a condition that can trigger this problem called Autonomic neuropathy. This condition involves damage to the nerves which are involved in the digestive process and other autonomic functions. This condition is common in people with diabetes. Diabetics have different types of neuropathies (outcome of the nerve damage on the tissues, muscles, etc.) including peripheral neuropathy. Autonomic neuropathy can cause bacterial overgrowth in the intestines and effect gut motility (ability to move the food through the digestive tract). All these problems may cause "explosive diarrhea" or other changes in bowel habits. This is a subject that is not fully explored yet. But probiotics can be very beneficial for bacterial overgrowth in the intestines. Whatever the case may be, the treatment here is the same as for diarrhea in general. For Crohn's disease patients your doctor may prescribe
Xifaxan
Major part of IBS patient treatment is using stress-relief techniques. For people with a gluten allergy, to avoid anything that has gluten like wheat, rye and barley. We are still not sure if oats are considered completely gluten free. But soy beans, quinoa, buckwheat, corn, millet are considered gluten free grains. Most of the commercial cereals are not gluten free. If your doctor finds you to have gluten sensitivity and you stay away form gluten products but still continue to have "explosive diarrhea" then your doctor would need to investigate your case further.
Explosive Diarrhea - How To Manage This Diarrhea Symptom.Things to try for this type of diarrhea:
Free radicals cause damage to the digestive system. Free radicals are unstable, destructive molecules that lack electrons. Free radicals may cause many health issues including imbalance of the gut flora, causing diarrhea for example. They form naturally, but production of these free radicals can rise beyond optimal levels for many reasons:
